A word from the family: Andy was diagnosed with colorectal cancer on February 1, 2021. Over the last 5 years, he has had multiple reoccurances despite surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation. In 2024, we decided to transfer his care to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN where Andy underwent an 11 hour surgery with the hope that it would finally get rid of his cancer. That surgery was life changing, but not in positive way. While it was successtul at removing the cancer at that point, it also created another battle. In February 2025, Andy went septic, was hospitalized at Sanford ICU, and suffered acute kidney failure which resulted in multiple weeks of dialysis. Unfortunately, in November 2025, we were given the news that his cancer has once again returned.
Despite the devastating news, the cancer is developing very slowly so Mayo has decided to just monitor it at this time so Andy can continue to recover and gain strength in order to possibly receive more treatment in the future. In the meantime, we have been made aware of a new local clinic that utilizes holistic treatment options that are tailored specifically to each cancer patient. He started his treatment regime with Divinity Wellness in early April 2026.
The last 5 years of surgeries, treatments, and travel to Mayo have put tremendous financial burden on our family. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you in July!
