Calgary-based trumpeter André Wickenheiser is an active performer, composer, arranger, and educator whose work reflects a strong grounding in jazz tradition and contemporary practice. He began his studies at Mount Royal University before completing both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in jazz performance at McGill University, bringing a thoughtful and versatile approach to the bandstand.
He has performed with a wide range of artists and ensembles, including Laila Biali, Jens Lindemann, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Canadian National Jazz Orchestra. Alongside his performing career, he maintains an active role as an educator at Ambrose University, the Mount Royal Conservatory, and the University of Calgary.
Jammers welcome – free admission for those ready to play.
