ANDRÁS LADOCSI — THERE IS A BIG RIVERParis-based Hungarian photographer András Ladocsi presents his series in a special off-site exhibition at Galerie Paris-B’s Project Space, held in parallel with Paris Photo 2025, where his work is featured in the fair’s Emergence Sector, and his book There Is a Big River…, published by Void, has been shortlisted for the Aperture Foundation Photobook Prize.
For András Ladocsi, photography is a way to connect and to understand how we are shaped by the places we inhabit and the people we encounter. He captures moments where vulnerability transforms into force and where being unprotected becomes a quiet form of power. Trained as a professional swimmer, he learned endurance and developed a profound relationship with his own body, which echoes through his work, where movement is essential, just as water must flow. His images reveal the body as a language of expression and connection, celebrating life, tenderness, and resilience while exploring intimacy and interconnectivity. Bodies unfolding, twisting, moving, wrestling, or resting, echo our relationships with our surroundings and with ourselves.
The photographs presented at Galerie Paris-B’s Project Space offer a glimpse into his series There Is a Big River…, drawing us closer to the quiet rhythm of connection and transformation that runs through his work.
