"A 4-hour bus tour of Windsor's historical sites, learning about local Black history, and our part in the Underground Railroad."You are invited to “Ride & Dine” on a unique Bus Tour that tantalizes your taste buds, while immersing you in Windsor’s rich Black history.
Delight in unique and authentic Black cuisine, including a mix of African, Caribbean, Jamaican and American Soul Food!
Our guests will sample flavours from a minimum of 3 restaurants that tell stories of culture and heritage, all while exploring significant landmarks and narratives that shaped this community. Specifically, they will hear about Windsor’s significant role in the Underground Railroad and the U.S. Civil Rights Movement.
The “W.E. Ride & Dine” tour showcases the contributions of Black Canadians in Windsor’s rich history, from athletes to politicians to activists and educational leaders.
Guests are taken on a coach Bus Tour around Windsor, guided by noted Black historian Irene Moore Davis, including stops and photo ops at the historic Jackson Park Bandshell, the Tower of Freedom Underground Railroad Monument and more.
The “W.E. Ride & Dine” tour recognizes that Black History is a part of everyone’s history. The tour runs from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and travels rain or shine, so please dress for the weather.
