"We Go Together" Couples' Cookie Class at Ackerman Winery

Looking for a fun and creative way to celebrate Valentine's Day? Join us for a special Couples' Cookie Decorating Class at Ackerman Winery! Each pair will decorate 8 cookies (4 per person) while enjoying your choice of a bottle of Ackerman's "Lovers' Wine" (Cranberry & Plum Wine) or two Signature Cranberry Tonic Mocktails.
Please Note: Each ticket covers 2 attendees. When purchasing your ticket, select the option that includes your drink choice.

We will be doing a fun Valentine's Day "We Go Together" Themed set that tastes amazing and will look even better once you've completed your decorating!

Everything is provided for you! You get 8 cookies to decorate with royal icing and a box to take your awesome creations home. This class is aimed for beginners and no experience is required.

This class is on Saturday, February 15th 3:00-5:00pm. We'll have just enough time to decorate and ask questions along the way. We have seating for up to 10 Couples!

FAQ

What will I be doing in the class?

Besides having the most fun ever? We will be going over royal icing basics, decorating techniques, and you will decorate your very own set of cookies to take home with you that day. Each set includes 8 cookies; you each can decorate 4 from the set!

Do you offer a virtual class?

Yes! We have pre-recorded classes that you can find on our Etsy shop. However, the online class is a very different experience than our in-person classes. Participants of the online class are responsible for baking their own cookies and preparing their own icing. This particular class is not available online, but we have lots of others to choose from! Can I purchase an additional DIY take-home kit?

Yes! Many parents or practicing cookiers purchase additional class kits to take home and re-make the class on your own. We will bring a few extras the day of for those impulse shoppers, but there will only be a couple and not guaranteed everyone will get one if not purchased ahead! If you would like to purchase a take home kit, you can add one as you check out.

Do I need to know how to bake?

Nope! We will have all the cookies pre-made and will give you the recipe at the end of class for you to create later on your own.

What do I need to bring to class?

Nothing! Everything will be provided for you. All you need to do is join in and have fun! Messy decorator? Feel free to bring your own apron.

What age is best for cookie classes?

This particular class is aimed for adult couples, but nothing about the content or designs would be inappropriate for children. Please note that kiddos under 12 will need a parent taking the class as well. If you think your child may be too young to enjoy the in-person class, purchase an additional take-home kit!

Can just my child take the class?

We ask that all parents also attend the class with their children under 12. For children 12 and over, you can drop off your child to take the class and return to pick up in 1.5 hours. Due to limited space, we do not have room for parents to stand by and watch their children in class. So unfortunately, no - your child cannot take the class alone. Good news though, this particular class is designed for pairs and each ticket = 2 attendees.

What will I bring home?

By the end of class, you will have created a set of 8 cookies ready to dry for 24-48 hours in their box. And of course you'll have new skills, memories and fun!

Can I sign up as an individual or as a group?

This particular class is for pairs, so each ticket = 2 attendees with 8 cookies to share. We are limited to a total of 20 seats per class, so definitely sign up ASAP!

Where are the classes located?

We will meet at Ackerman Winery in Amana, IA. Class locations vary each month but they typically take place somewhere in Iowa, Washington or Johnson County.

I signed up for a class but can't make it?

We understand that life happens, so that's why we allow you to cancel up to 7 days before the class to receive a refund (less the Eventbrite fees). You can always transfer your spot to a friend though (and what a nice friend you are!). If you cancel within 7 days of class, we can no longer offer a refund, but you can pick up your supplies and receive access to the online class instead.

Add a Sugar Cookie Class Kit to your Order!

Order your sugar cookie class kit and take the class home with you to teach a child or friend! Our class kits come with everything you'll use in class. The cookie shapes and icing colors will be the same as what we learned in class. Cookie kits typically include 6 cookies , 4 bags of royal icing, and sometimes sprinkles (depending if the design calls for it!).

How long can a kit last? Depending on how you store it, your kits can last for a week or longer. Freezing cookies and icing keeps them fresh for up to 3 months, but if left at room temp we recommend using them within a week.

We will bring a few extra kits for impulse shoppers the day of, but make sure to purchase a kit during check out if you know for sure you want one!

Allergens: Eggs, gluten, and nuts are present in the kitchen used to bake these cookies and prepare the icing. Please consider your allergies before registering.

Eventbrite fees: Your ticked price includes the Eventbrite fees; however, Eventbrite does not refund its fees. If you cancel your ticket for a refund, we'll give you a refund less the Eventbrite fee - since we don't get this back either. Eventbrite keeps it regardless of whether your show up or cancel.
