México 2000 Ballet Folklórico is proud to announce its new and spectacular artistic production, "Viva México" set to enchant audiences this September. This captivating performance will take audiences on a vibrant journey through the rich cultural landscape of México, showcasing the enduring traditions and diverse dances that make this country unique. "Viva México" will bring the magic, light, and color of traditional México to the stage, featuring typical dances and costumes from various regions, creating an enchanted atmosphere for all attendees. The performance will highlight new productions from Jalisco, Quintana Roo, Calabaceado from Baja California, Queretaro, Huapangos from Nuevo León, Danza de los Negritos and Coyutla from Veracruz, Yucatan, Dances from the Cora indigenous group and Coastal dances from Nayarit, a representation of a traditional fiesta in the Pacific Ocean’s Coast. The cast includes 70 dancers from 5 to 20 years old. This production marks the 78th presentation in the 26-year history of México 2000, an organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Mexican culture in the North Texas community. México 2000 Ballet Folklórico has earned the distinguished designation of "Masterpiece" by the National Endowment for the Arts, a testament to its commitment to artistic excellence and cultural preservation. About México 2000 Ballet Folklórico: Founded in 1999, México 2000 Ballet Folklórico is a dance school and a professional dance ensemble dedicated to preserving and promoting Mexican culture through traditional dance, music, history, and traditions. Its mission is to instill cultural pride and awareness in youth while educating the public about the Hispanic community's contributions. The organization also focuses on developing dancers' talents and promoting academic excellence through the arts.
