"Vanished Indianapolis" Author Talk and Mass Ave Walk & Talk

History lovers and Indy readers! Join Tomorrow Bookstore in partnership with Indiana Humanities for an author talk with Ed Fujawa about his book "Vanished Indianapolis" followed by an evening Mass Ave Walk & Talk with Sampson Levingston.

The author conversation will be between Ed Fujawa and Rachel James-Dolan, president of the Springdale Neighborhood Association and fan of Indy history.

Tickets to this event are free, but a $10 payment is suggested. This helps us to pay authors and create great literary programming!

Vanished Indianapolis: More than two centuries removed from its founding, Indianapolis has seen its share of landmarks and landscapes pass into memory. Some have totally vanished, such as the National Road covered bridge over the White River, the Marion County courthouse , the 1835 Indiana statehouse, and the previous headquarters for the long-standing Flanner House organization. Others still exist, but not in their original location or form, like Pogue's Run, the Central Canal through downtown, and the remnants of structures at Riverside Park. Indianapolis historian Edward Fujawa explores the history of lost sites, how they appear today, and how some are still used or repurposed.

Sampson Levingston is an Indiana History Lover from Indianapolis! Sampson, under his platform Through2Eyes, travels the state of Indiana hunting and gathering stories to share. Levingston’s historical videos, which can be found on YouTube and Facebook, have been viewed over 100,000 times! In June of 2020, Sampson started hosting historical walking tours that he calls, “Walk & Talks”. As of today Sampson has led over 200 historical walking, biking or trolley tours through his hometown of Indianapolis. Sampson’s tours have gained national attention, including a feature earlier this year on NPR’s All Things Considered.
