About this Event
We invite you to join us at the FREE screening of "Unlocked Voices: Bridging the Future," an original documentary film commissioned by the Fort Worth Tarrant County NAACP. The film is an original, historical documentary commissioned by the Fort Worth Tarrant County NAACP that features 8 iconic citizens of Fort Worth and Tarrant County who have made amazing accomplishments throughout their lifetimes. Icons such as Dr. Opal Lee, the grandmother of the national Juneteenth holiday, Lorraine Miller, the first African American Officer of the United States House of Representatives, Judge L. Clifford Davis and Rev. Floyd Moody, whose legal efforts led to the desegregation of the Mansfield ISD in 1956 and the Fort Worth ISD in 1962 and more. These passionate and riveting stories are told in their own words and in their own voices moderated by Bob Ray Sanders, a local journalist and icon himself.
This screening is in partnership with the Broadway Baptist Church in Fort Worth. A brief panel discussion with Mattie Compton, Lorraine Miller and Estella Williams will follow the screening of the film.
Please RSVP via Eventbrite. You don't want to miss this great opportunity to learn about the work & experiences of these local icons in their own words. Questions? Please email Brittany at [email protected].
