Beginning in 1614, English colonists and the Powhatan Confederacy entered into an eight-year peace. The lull of that peace was shattered on March 22, 1622, with an all-day military offensive led by Chief Opechancanough, resulting in the deaths of nearly 350 colonists, along with many of their own people. Join historical interpreters as they explore the individuals and events surrounding the uprising and the destruction of the developing Falling Creek Ironworks. Alongside living history, there will be an exhibit on Falling Creek Ironworks in the Henricus Education Center and van tours taking visitors to Falling Creek Ironworks (included in admission). The van tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis the day of the event with a capacity of 14 people per tour. You can sign up for a tour in the Henricus Visitor Center.
