"The Face of Broken" Solo Show By Azzy Art
The Face of Broken is a solo exhibition by Azzy Art that explores the many ways brokenness manifests in people, memories, identities, places, and experiences.
Following my previous exhibition, The Shape of Broken, this new collection became more focused, more personal, and naturally centred around faces.
Each work begins with something specific: a memory, a feeling, a person, a place, or a fracture, and uses that individual story as a way into something larger and more universal.
Through portraiture, mixed media, texture, fragments, layered materials, and experimental techniques, the exhibition looks at brokenness without trying to hide it, soften it, or turn it into a simple story of healing.
Instead, The Face of Broken is about acknowledging what we carry and continuing anyway, with persistence, resilience, and honesty.
The exhibition includes a new body of original mixed-media works and invites viewers to look closely, spend time with the details, and perhaps recognize something of their own experience within them.
