The Contemporary Art Modern Project is elated to announce a special summer exhibition in collaboration with Aurora Molina and her students at Play Studio Artelier. At Play Studio Artelier, they believe every child is an artist with a unique voice.
Under the guidance of artist and educator Aurora Molina, her students are invited to explore contemporary art through curiosity, experimentation, and the transformative language of fiber.

The portraits presented in this exhibition are more than representations of faces—they are expressions of identity, observation, and imagination. Through weaving, stitching, and textile-based techniques, each young artist discovered how thread can become a medium for storytelling, connection, and creative confidence.

We are honored to present these works at The CAMP Gallery, celebrating the creativity of our young artists and reaffirming our belief that when children are given the opportunity to create with intention, their voices become an essential part of our cultural conversation. At Play Studio Artelier, we see art not only as a means of making, but as a way of thinking, connecting, and shaping the future.

Aurora Molina (b. 1984, Havana, Cuba)
Aurora Molina is a Miami-based artist whose interdisciplinary practice centers on textile and fiber arts. Emigrating to the U.S. at sixteen, she earned degrees in Visual Arts from Miami Dade College, a BFA in Mixed Media from Florida International University, and a Master’s in Contemporary Art from Universidad Europea de Madrid.

Molina uses embroidery, sculpture, and multimedia to address social and political issues, especially the marginalization of the elderly. Her work draws on research trips across Southeast Asia and Latin America, and her technical expertise has been honed through collaborations such as assisting with Sheila Hicks’ exhibition at The Bass Museum.

She is the co-founder of FAMA (Fiber Artists–Miami Association) and the founder of Red Thread Artist Studios, a groundbreaking space supporting fiber-based artistic practices. Since 2011, she has been represented by the Bernice Steinbaum Gallery.
