Auditions will consist of cold readings of presented sides.
Please come prepared with known conflicts during the rehearsal and show process.

REHEARSAL + PERFORMANCE DATES:
All technical rehearsals and performances are mandatory.
Rehearsals and performances will take place at The Port Tobacco Players Theatre/Rehearsal Hall. There is the possibility of rehearsals occurring at other locations in the LaPlata area if necessary.
First Read-Through: June 2nd @ 7 PM
Rehearsals begin: June 2nd @ 7 PM
Tech rehearsals: September 5 to September 17, 2026
Performances will be 9/18/26 through 9/30/26 (Fridays @ 8 PM, Saturdays @ 8 PM, and Sundays @ 3PM).
Brush-up rehearsals: Wednesdays
ROLES TO BE CAST:
Truvy Jones - The wise-cracking, warm-hearted owner of the beauty shop who believes there is no such thing as natural beauty.
Shelby Eatenton-Latcherie - The youngest, "prettiest girl in town," who is a spirited, optimistic diabetic determined to live life to the fullest, even against medical advice.
M'Lynn Eatenton - Shelby’s mother; a strong, busy professional who is overprotective and deeply devoted to her daughter's well-being.
Annelle Dupuy-Desoto - The timid, mysterious newcomer working for Truvy who undergoes a significant transformation from insecure to devout, and eventually finds happiness.
Clairee Belcher: A wealthy, sarcastic, and warm widow who is the town’s former first lady and loves gossip and football.
Ouiser Boudreaux: A wealthy, "lovably miserable" spinster who acts as the town’s curmudgeon, hiding a kind heart behind a foul temper.
