About this Event
"Red" by John Logan, is a powerful two-person play that dives into the mind of abstract expressionist painter Mark Rothko as he struggles to balance artistic integrity with commercial success. Set in his New York studio in the late 1950s, the play explores creativity, mentorship, and what it means to make meaningful art in a changing world.
Our student production of Red offers an exciting opportunity for emerging theatre artists to take on an emotionally charged and visually rich story, combining acting, design, and art in a truly collaborative way. As a fully student-led project, we’re relying on community support to bring this vision to life.
Donations will go directly toward materials for the set, paint, rights, and costumes—helping us create an immersive experience worthy of Rothko’s world. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps empower student artists to learn, grow, and share meaningful theatre with our campus and community, and helps ensure we can continue with projects like this.
