"Poetry &" Workshop at Workhouse Arts Center

In this workshop, participants will explore and create ekphrastic poetry-a poem that describes or responds to visual art. Attendees will take inspiration from the Flourish exhibition, on view around the McGuire Woods Gallery at the Workhouse Art Center. Both novice and experienced poets are welcome and will have the opportunity to share their written creation.

"Flourish" celebrates bold artistic expression and the dynamic energy of the Workhouse Arts Center’s community of studio and low-residency artists. This year is a reimagined version of an anticipated annual exhibition!
The exhibition’s name, Flourish, is rooted in both its meanings. As a noun, it signifies bold, creative gestures – conjuring imagery of the processes happening in Workhouse Studios every day. As a verb, Flourish represents growth and thriving, both a mirror and an aspiration of the Workhouse community.
