"Landslide" - Fleetwood Mac | One Day Choir ~ Crystal Vocal Arts
About this Event
If you miss singing with a group of people and haven't had the time to commit to a regularly rehearsing choir, this is for you. No need to audition, no need for perfection. Sign up and come sing with no stress!
What's a One Day Choir, you ask?
One Day Choirs give humans the opportunity to sing together as a choir that only meets a singular time. It gives you a chance to try out singing in a group for the first time OR to return as a choral veteran, all with no stress, judgement, or commitment. Make new friends, make new music, and join the Crystal Vocal Arts community, if only for a night!
What should I expect?
The event will be lead like a rehearsal/performance hybrid. We will...
- Stretch, play sing games, warm up, and get comfortable in the space
- Chunk through the sections of the piece as a group and, for a moment, in smaller sections
- Discuss the meaning and ethos of the song
- Make gorgeous music from the arrangement
What's the song?
Landslide by Fleetwood Mac, arranged by the beautiful Kenter Davies ([email protected]). For CVA's first-ever One Day Choir, what better way to connect with each other than through the vulnerability and touching sentimentality of Landslide? Mirroring the Rocky Mountains that helped inspire Stevie Nicks when writing the song, journey with us on the ups and downs of choosing whether to abandon something old for something new.
Listen to the arrangement at another choir event lead by the kick butt Gaia Music Collective and Kenter!
How do I learn the music??
The sheet music will be sent to you via confirmation email after signing up thru eventbrite. Learning parts (sung tracks isolated per voice part) will be sent out a week or so before the event.
The goal of One Day Choir is to make music and connect with each other as a connected choral force, so being relatively familiar with your part walking in would be lovely! HOWEVER, this event is, first and foremost, for YOU and your musical enjoyment, so please do not stress. Perfection or memorization is in no way necessary or requested! Some people learn better when they're with fellow human part friends, and there will be time for each part to work alone.
