The "Intro to Defensive Shooting/EDC is the first of three classes for the person who is interested in learning developing self-defense skills with a firearm and advancing those defensive skill sets. This course provides 8hrs of defensive handgun training. Areas of instruction to include: Safe shooting fundamentals will be reinforced, detailed malfunction drills and stoppages, accuracy, target acquisition, shooting on the move, concealment/cover, and multiple complex live fire drills, unsighted and sighted shooting, and unorthodox shooting positions. After skill development we move into live fire simulation training to add realism to the training and allow the student to apply learned skills. Multiple threat, hostage situation, active shooter, and shoot no shoot scenarios. The night shoot and skill development are optional but recommended. This course is meant to assist the student in assessing their personal capabilities, build defensive shooting skills, and provide him/her the tools to improve their skills after the course completions through personal practice. This class will also build the students confidence in their personal ability to defend themselves or others. You don't have to be a master gun handler to take this course. Basic gun handling skills and knowledge of firearm safety are a must. This is an 8-hour course. Requirements are: serviceable handgun, three magazines (two speed loaders or speed strips for revolver) holster, magazine or speed loader pouch, eye and ear protection, 300 rounds ammunition minimum.
