Karmic Circles, 2026
Karmic Circles explores the soul's journey through life and the role that karma plays in shaping that path. Inspired by Hindu philosophy, these works reflect my ongoing fascination with questions that have been asked for centuries: Why are we born? What is the purpose of life? Why do some lives end early while others continue for many years? What happens to the soul after death?
In Hindu tradition, the soul, or Atma, moves through many lifetimes, carrying the effects of past actions and experiences. The ultimate goal is to free the soul from karmic attachments and reach a state of spiritual liberation known as Moksha.
This exhibition centers on twelve principles of positive karmic living. Represented through a series of painted disks and mixed-media works, these principles encourage awareness, compassion, responsibility, and mindful action. Together, they suggest ways of living that reduce suffering and help the soul move toward freedom.
Additional works expand on the themes of the Circle of Life, Layers of Life, and Atma. Circle of Life explores the responsibilities and experiences that shape a lifetime. Layers of Life reflect the stages of human existence and spiritual growth. Atma focuses on the needs of the soul and its journey toward liberation.
Throughout the exhibition, the soul's path unfolds from birth and earthly experience to the release of karmic ties. Hindu teachings describe karma in several forms: karma inherited from the past, karma experienced in the present, and karma created through our actions today. Together, these forces shape our lives and influence our future.
At its heart, Karmic Circles is an invitation to reflect on how we live, how our choices affect ourselves and others, and how greater awareness can lead to personal growth. The exhibition reminds us of a simple but powerful idea: the energy we bring into the world returns to us. Therefore, strive to do good.
