Time: Sunday 24th of November (9am to 5pm ) + 1 Sewing Club Session ( Wednesdays 6pm to 8:30pm)
Delve into sewing with drapey and silky fabrics with Module D "Introduction to Bias Sewing". Learn how to make outstanding projects in Silk , Viscose and more challenging material with this exclusive Course With Designer Iryna Steller of Briiskie Bobbin (@briiskie_bobbins_fashion)
You’’ll learn the Theory on :
Madeleine Vionnet - pioneer of bias cut, Glamour of 30s Hollywood and why bias was popular
Which fabrics are best friends of bias
Gravity and tension of fabric
Tools: Why we need silk shears, pinking shears, silk pins
You will make 1 of the offered bias cut designs project ! You'll be sewing an elegant piece of your choice from: A Top with cawl neck, a skirt with draping , a Slip dress with bias straps or a silk pajama pants.
Here are the topics we will practice during the class:
Cutting fabric and stabilizing, Front and back bias
Proper Seam allowance and notches , Sewing techniques - french seam, shearing, serging
Lining - fabric weight match,sewing together
Leveling the hem, resting garment
Sewing linings - fabric weight match, Leveling the hem, resting garment and more !

The fabric and trims ( thread and buttons) for your project is in addition. We sell some fabric available in our circular textile store and will also recommend a list of materials+ local stores at registration.
