You may know Angie Hanlin from being on or as a keynote speaker at various conferences...


Now Western New York teachers can say they know her from her special presentation this October about what we can do to ensure literacy for all!


WNY LIT: Literacy Instructors Together is thrilled to announce that Angie Hanlin will be speaking to teachers at our October meeting, Wednesday, October 23rd from 6-8pm. We are tentatively scheduled at The Willow Room in Lockport, but this may change to a more central location. Stay tuned.

More About Angela Hanlin

Angela Hanlin is a dedicated and passionate leader for change in schools and classrooms. She currently works tirelessly to positively transform teacher practice and student achievement. She bases her career on the belief that ALL students can learn and perform at high levels of achievement when they are given highly engaging, research-based instructional practices and targeted, specific interventions. She feels it is our moral obligation to ensure literacy for all students. She creates a growth mindset among her students, staff, and community and uses character education to shape and sustain a positive culture of collaboration and growth that is focused on learning.

Since 1996, Angie has served in the roles of classroom teacher, curriculum coordinator, instructional coach, professional development coordinator where she worked to train and coach teachers on research-based instructional practices and strategies, as a building principal at Matthews Elementary in the New Madrid County R-1 School District, and as a superintendent. She has received numerous awards for her performance in the classroom and as a school leader and has found a new passion for working with building leaders to promote systems and structures to improve literacy for all students. The Matthews Elementary staff was able to dramatically transform their school and reach proficiency levels of 100 percent!

Angie received the 2019–2020 Outstanding Rural Administrator Award from MARE (Missouri Association of Rural Educators). She now passionately works with school districts and building and district leaders on their journey of literacy improvement, systems & structure work.

Mrs. Hanlin received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Southeast Missouri State University, a master’s degree in administration, and an Education specialist degree in Educational Leadership from William Woods University.

Come join us at Starpoint Central School District for a day filled with insights, strategies, and inspiration from literacy leader Angie Hanlin. This in-person event will bring together school leaders and educators to explore the evidence-based systems and structures necessary for success.
