Step back into the turbulent yet transformative decade of the 1960s where our adaptation of Hedda Gabler by Henrik Ibsen unfolds. This powerful drama is reimagined against a backdrop of social upheaval political activism and cultural revolution.
Hedda Gabler a woman of striking beauty and intense desires is trapped in a stifling marriage with the well-meaning but dull academic George Tesman. Restless and yearning for excitement Hedda finds herself at the center of a web of deceit manipulation and unfulfilled ambitions.
In this 1960s version Hedda's struggle for freedom and individuality mirrors the era's themes of self-expression and defiance against societal norms. As she interacts with the charismatic Eilert Lövborg the ambitious Judge Brack and her old friend Thea Elvsted Hedda's world spirals out of control leading to a shocking and tragic conclusion.
