Born in Boston in 1947, Grandin faced early challenges with speech and social interactions. However, she excelled academically, earning degrees in psychology and animal science. Grandin is known for her innovative designs that reduce stress in animals, particularly cattle in slaughterhouses.
Her appearance is part of the Friends of the Library Sunset Signature Series, sponsored by the Heart of North Carolina, the City of Asheboro, and the Friends of the Randolph County Public Library.
