Workshop Overview

This two-day workshop equips educators, professional development specialists, and leaders with a new mindset for both onboarding and ongoing competency approaches. Join the experts, Ellen Joswiak and Donna Wright, in a journey that will explore structured and evidence-informed approaches to competency design.

Day 1 will explore the Tiered Skills Acquisition Model to create meaningful, individualized orientation experiences. Participants will build structured orientation pathways that support orientation progression and prepare preceptors with tools and resources.

Day 2 will focus on implementing the Donna Wright Competency Assessment Model™ to transform annual validation from checklist-driven tasks to outcome-based performance assurance.
