"Borderlands: trauma, tension, trust" - panel discussion

The team of the international EuroBorderWalks project warmly invites you to a panel discussion on the issue of contemporary borders, featuring sociologists and photographic artists. The project is being carried out in three border regions at the edge of the European Union (Ukraine/Poland, Croatia/Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Ireland/United Kingdom). The discussion, in which the researchers will talk about the lived experiences of borderland residents and their own research findings, will be preceded by a screening of two films, “Osmoza” (2025) and “Smuga” (2026), directed by Tomasz Ferenc and filmed on the Polish-Ukrainian border. The event is open to the public, who will have the opportunity to ask questions and make comments during the final part of the panel discussion.
