On Friday, Feb. 28th (Last Day of Black History Month) we are co-hosting a very important Community Conversation entitled: "Black By Demand: Where Do We Go From Here?" from 5pm-9pm at SAY Detroit Play Center at Lipke Park located at 19320 Van Dyke Ave., Detroit, MI 48234 (near 7 Mile & Van Dyke).
Over the past few weeks, I've received so many calls/messages about the angst, anxiety, and uneasiness people are experiencing regarding the state of our communities, as well as questions about what is going to happen next. So after talking to my wife, our team, and others about it, we've decided to put together this Community Conversation.
In this crucial and uncertain political climate we're living in, we not only want to observe Black History Month, but use this moment as a time to gauge perspectives, develop solutions, and come together as community on how we move forward together.
5pm-7pm: will have free food, games (including mobile bowling, video games, board games, etc.), a live DJ, networking, podcasters, and much more
7pm-9pm: will be the actual community conversation
We are co-hosting this event with Michigan Families For Fair Care, Young Minds In Transition, Mothering Justice, Detroit Action, Michigan United, MI Liberation, 482Forward, We The People MI, Metro Detroit A. Philip Randolph Institute, Sierra Club Michigan Chapter, Clean Water Action - Michigan, Silent Cry Inc., VAAC - Voting Access for All, UAW, SEIU, IBEW, and many others.
