"Bittersweet Muck": Documentary Screening & Panel Discussion

It’s time to say “NO MORE”!!! Join the League of Women Voters of Broward County and other community groups for a screening of “Bittersweet Muck”, a compelling documentary that exposes the environmental and social consequences of sugarcane field burning in South FL. This film sheds light on the disparities faced by local communities and the powerful industries behind this controversial practice.

The film will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Emmy-winning journalist Sasha Jones, Sierra Club FL Chapter's Stop the Burn Campaign Organizer Patrick Ferguson, award-winning filmmaker Yanatha Desouvre, and former Mayor of Pahokee Colin Walkes.
