Come "BE The Church" with us!Join us on Sunday, November 23, 2025 starting as we SERVE a meal, WORSHIP, and FELLOWSHIP with the congregation at St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Detroit.
WHAT WE WILL DO: PLAN, PREPARE and SERVE a meal.
WORSHIP: together with the St. Charles Barromeo Congregation. Members of Redford Aldersgate United Methodist Church’s praise and worship and liturgical team are invited to take an active role in the service.
FELLOWSHIP: with the congregation and community that St. Charles serves by sharing a meal and wonderful time together as the Body of Christ.
DATE/ TIME: NOVEMBER 23, 2025
10:45 a.m. ARRIVAL for persons preparing/bringing food
11:20 a.m. ARRIVAL for persons attending Worship Service.
Worship service begins promptly at 11:30 a.m.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:*
1. Purchase/ prepare an item that will be served during the meal. A sign up list is available.
2. Serve food during the meal or help clean-up after meal.
3. Donate, to help defray the costs associated with this service endeavor https://raumc.breezechms.com/give/online
4. Share your talents during the meal by providing entertainment ( music, reflective prayer, brief comedy skit, etc!)

PLEASE NOTE:
- We will not be holding service at Redford Aldersgate United Methodist Church on Nov. 23, 2025. INSTEAD, we will be attending and participating in worship service at St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Detroit at 11:30 a.m.
- This is an excellent opportunity for high school students to earn service credit hours or community service hours for anyone who may need them.

ABOUT ST. CHARLES BORROMEO PARISH
St. Charles is a diverse urban parish of Detroit, rooted in Christ's Gospel and Catholic tradition. Each week St. Charles partners with individuals, groups, nonprofits and churches throughout Metropolitan Detroit to directly address the issue of food scarcity in the surrounding community and bring people from diverse backgrounds together through its free and delicious community meal.
ABOUT BE THE CHURCH
In 2023 under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Ava R. Euper several churches launched an initiative to take us out of our church buildings to more directly “BE the Church” through service, worship and fellowship projects and opportunities with local communities. Since then we have implemented and/ or participated in a myriad of projects with local groups, schools, churches and more! Past “BE the Church” events have included a multi-site collaborative “BE The Church: Pet Blessing Service with Low Cost Vaccination Clinic and Animal Adoption Event, International Programming, Interfaith Programming with Churches and Leaders from diverse faith traditions and more!
As we close 2025 and head audaciously into 2026, we invite YOU to be a part of the movement to “BE the church” !
