Two roommates work as nurses at a Mumbai hospital, and gradually find their lives intertwined with a cook who works there too. Together, they form a support system that is as much a tribute to the opportunities of city life as it is a response to overwhelming urban pressures. Payal Kapadia brings her background in documentaries to this, her first fiction film, with extraordinary results.
