Step into the world of Anthony Apesos’ "A Refigured Tarot", an evocative exhibition featuring all 78 original oil paintings originated for his published tarot deck.
Discover timeless symbolism and imagery reimagined through intimate figures, mysterious compositions, landscapes, and masterful color.
A focal point along the gallery’s longest wall presents the Major Arcana in two rows, reimagining traditional tarot lore through intimately observed human figures. At times, Apesos incorporates family members or himself into mysterious compositions, weaving his personal world into the universal symbolism of the cards. The remaining Minor Arcana paintings complete the deck’s narrative world, showcasing Apesos’s mastery of landscape, figurative painting, color harmony, and composition.
