"A Common Wealth of Light" Book Release Party

Mary Bilderback, a member of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, who died in 2025, will be honored this spring with the release of her book, A Common Wealth of Light: A Collection of Writings and Art.

The book is available on Amazon.com on February 28th, hardcover edition priced at $30 and paperback at $23. Books will also be available at the event.

Throughout her life, Sister Mary brought together a rare blend of scientific curiosity, artistic expression, and a profound commitment to justice and care for Earth. Her ministry touched countless people through her work in human genetics, decades of service at Georgian Court University, published poetry and prose, and her involvement with eco‑spiritual and peace‑focused organizations. Her creativity, compassion, and deep reverence for creation continues to inspire many.

To celebrate her legacy, Georgian Court University will host a book launch and opening reception on Saturday, March 28, 3:00 -5:00 p.m. in the M. Christina Geis Gallery, Jeffries Hall (formerly the Arts and Sciences Center). Remarks and a reading will begin at 3:30pm. The accompanying exhibition of Sister Mary’s artwork will remain on display through April 16th. The gallery is open Monday–Thursday, 9:00 am–4:00 pm, with viewing dates as follows:

• March 30 – April 1, 2026

• April 7 – 9

• April 13 – 16

(Closed April 2–6 for Easter)
