Destiney is a visual artist and illustrator whose work celebrates the depth, beauty, and resilience of West African and African American culture. Through a fusion of historical narratives, ancestral connections, and visionary storytelling, she creates art that bridges the past and future. Her work explores themes of identity, heritage, and mythology, using bold compositions and intricate details to honor untold stories and

reimagine possibilities.

A Mississippi State University graduate with a degree in Fine Arts and a Business minor, Destiney has built a career that extends beyond the canvas. She is the founder of Poetically Illustrated, a brand that merges art with storytelling, inspiring global audiences through fine art, illustration, and creative content. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and collected by those who seek to preserve and uplift Black history and culture.

Destiney’s current focus includes a series of historical paintings that highlight African and African American folklore, intelligence, and cultural contributions of African descendants in America. She is also developing projects that explore vintage Hollywood glamour, African goddesses, and Orishas.
