Discover what vernacular & traditional buildings can teach about sustainability, climate-responsive design, and modern construction thinking
About this Event

Join us for an engaging masterclass exploring how ancient and vernacular buildings addressed challenges we still face today, from overheating and ventilation to sustainability and local adaptation.

Long before modern technology, traditional buildings responded intelligently to climate, place, and people. In this session, we’ll examine what these approaches can teach contemporary design and why they remain highly relevant to Architecture Technology.

The session will also include an introduction to our BSc Architectural Technology course, with guidance on where this subject can lead and how to develop the skills needed for a successful career in the field. We will also discuss progression routes into the course, making this session particularly valuable for students considering a Foundation Year or those who have recently completed a Foundation Year and are looking to take the next step into undergraduate study.
