Schedule

UTC-04:00Location
North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport | Southport, NC
At the end of 1775, the Provincial Council resolved to create a North Carolina State Navy with ships located in Edenton, New Bern, and Wilmington. By the fall of 1776, Wilmington's own "General Washington" was reported as ready for service in the fledgling North Carolina State Navy.
Join us to see if you have the skills to become an 18th century sailor in the North Carolina Navy!
This is a drop-in style program and runs from 11:00am to 2:00pm and is FREE to the public, but donations are accepted and appreciated to support future educational programming here at the NCMMSPT. Our Anchors Aweigh programming is geared towards families and folks of all ages, and each hands-on activity will focus on a specific theme in Lower Cape Fear and North Carolina history.
