Ancestry Poetry Workshop and Open Mic

Join Suffolk County Poet Laureate Chip Williford for a community poem workshop and open mic centering on the subject of ancestry: Where do you come from? What were your ancestors like? What gives you pride?

All funds generated from this event, with cooperation from the NAACP, will go toward a scholarship funding college tuition for a student from Eastern Long Island to attend Suffolk County Community College; Carrying forward the NAACP national organization vision of an inclusive community rooted in liberation where all persons can exercise their civil and human rights without discrimination.
