Ancestral Skills Classes: Nettle Cordage Making
Learn & reclaim the skills of our ancestors | Meet the modern world with ancient wisdom
Create your own Nettle Cordage in this face-to-face session in a town centre location.
The Nettle was valued by our ancestors as a food source high in nutrition and as a medicinal plant. But did you know that our Bronze age ancestors used nettle to create fibres to make a fabric?
Learn this ancestral skill of making string from Nettles. Nettles were used by our ancestors to make fibres for cloth and for practical uses, like fishing nets.
In this class you will learn how to process the nettle, prepare into fibre and spin your own nettle string.
Includes Stories and Folklore surrounding nettles.
teaching this workshop is Lisa Mcnulty
