About this Event

The Sanctuary Studio welcomes pianist Anastasia Maksiuta and cellist Ryan Phipps for an intimate evening of chamber music, bringing together two accomplished artists whose careers span the worlds of international performance, recording, education, and artistic collaboration.

Maksiuta has appeared on prestigious stages throughout Europe and the United States, earning top honors in numerous international piano competitions and performing in renowned venues including Vienna’s Golden Hall of the Musikverein, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and the Moscow Conservatory. Equally at home in the classical and contemporary worlds, she brings a rare combination of virtuosity, sensitivity, and artistic curiosity to her performances.

Joining her is Los Angeles-based cellist Ryan Phipps, a versatile performer and educator known for his work in chamber music, orchestral performance, contemporary music, and recording projects. A passionate advocate for collaboration and new music, Phipps performs with ensembles across Southern California while maintaining an active teaching career through his private studio and numerous educational programs.

Together, Maksiuta and Phipps present a program that highlights the expressive possibilities of the piano-cello duo—from lyrical intimacy and rich dialogue to moments of dramatic intensity and reflection. Set within the close listening environment of The Sanctuary Studio, this recital offers a chance to experience chamber music as it was meant to be heard: personal, conversational, and deeply human.
