About this Event
Learn more about the uniqueness of this portrait posture found frequently within art. Taught by Robert Garey, deepen your knowledge and understanding of portraiture. Taught in a series of three sessions, participants will explore drawing anatomical structure and form in a 3/4 portrait, the significance of light and shadow, and look at examples from various art movements in art history.
Robert Garey studied under Steven Gately at Francis Marion College, at the Art Students League in New York, and at the New York Academy of Art. He has lived and worked both in Charleston and New York, establishing his career as an artist and muralist, working in a classic atelier style. In 2011, Garey returned to Florence, where he continues to produce work in fine art, portraiture, sign painting, and murals.
