About this Event
This one-day introductory course is designed for armed and unarmed security personnel that need to obtain the basic skills for providing close protection. Participants will be trained in the fundamentals of protection, basic operational planning, conducting expedient advances, and how to select, deploy, and use the proper tools, equipment, and technology to include communication devices, medical kits, physical security technology, and defensive weapons.
Instructor
Michael Mann, CPP®, PSP® has 30+ years’ experience in physical security, law enforcement, executive protection, and corporate security. Michael’s experience in close protection began during his service with the United States Marine Corps Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team (FAST), a dedicated security and antiterrorism unit of the Marine Corps. Michael also served on the mayor’s security detail while employed as a police officer with the Metro Nashville Police Department, and he served as an executive protection manager for a large risk management firm. Michael has been both a regional security manager and global physical security director, develops executive protection programs for the private sector, and he is certified in dignitary and executive protection.
