During this daylong workshop you will find out about the history of botanical illustration and the variety of different approaches and materials that can be used. Through different exercises you will experiment and learn about a variety of techniques and be inspired by the flowers and plants found around Headstone Manor.
This workshop is for beginners or those interested in knowing a bit more about this kind of illustration. You will need a love of drawing (there will be a lot of it) and an interest and curiosity about the natural world.
About the teacher
Helena Stride is an artist, illustrator and educator based in Pinner. After studying art history at university she trained as an art teacher worked in schools then pursued a career in museum education. In 2023 she completed an MA in Children’s Book Illustration at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. With a passion for wildlife most of her illustration work is about the natural world and she hopes to combine her love of art and wildlife together in books for children that are both entertaining and informative.
