An Imaginary Soirée at Downton Abbey
Rochester Chamber Music society is presenting An Imaginary Soirée at Downton Abbey on Saturday, October 17, 7:30 pm at Christ United Methodist Church.
Soprano Maria Jette will sing English music from the late Victorian era through the Edwardian period, and into the 1920s. The Downton Abbey craze is the perfect way for her to present so many grand (and ridiculous) songs from that period, everything from silly songs about fairies through Vaughan Williams, Edward Elgar and Peter Warlock. She will be accompanied by Horacio Nuguid on piano and Jaeden Weroha on cello.
