About the show:

Singer/songwriter and seacoast native Yamica Peterson, along with bandmates Nate Comp (Guitar/Vocals) and Paul Costley (Percussion/Vocals), will be performing an energetic variety of jazz-infused R&B, funk, and modern classics. The eclectic trio will be performing a comprehensive mix of original music and some favorite standards from artists such as Stevie Wonder, Buddy Guy, Susan Tedeschi & more. Ya'Mica' was born in Portsmouth, NH. She is the proud first born daughter of the recently deceased seacoast ledgend and beloved guitar man Pete Peterson. Her musical lineage noteably includes her grandmother, the late Jean M. Jones, Portsmouth’s ‘Lady of Song’ and she is great-niece to local jazz legend Sharon "Brown Sugar" Jones. At age 3, she gave her first performance and has been singing ever since.

Mica is eternally grateful for the family she is blessed with. Their struggles and successes are what fuels Mica's passion and love for performing for music lovers near and far. "A rising indie artist whose performance and writing captures fresh grooves filled with tasty hooks and tells her story of living life as a Mother and an artist." Musical influences include an eclectic, wide variety of tastes and generes, but her favorite artist will always be her loving father, Mr. Cleveland "Pete" Peterson.

A Listening Room Experience

Hermit Woods is excited to bring talented artists from New England and beyond to perform for you. Each performance will provide you with an intimate, up-close, and personal experience with the performing artists. We ask our audience please refrain from talking during the featured show. Your silence will allow the artists and the audience to immerse themselves in the experience, which is not otherwise possible in larger, noisier environments.

Doors open at 5:30 pm for a complimentary wine tasting. The Loft Doors open at 6:00. We encourage you to arrive early for our wine tasting and enjoy food and wine before the show. The kitchen will close at 7:00 pm. When the featured artists takes the stage we will ask that the audience remain quiet during the performance. After the show, we invite you to interact with the artists and purchase any music or merchandise offerings if available.
