Spend an evening with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Softball Team!
The Notre Dame softball team, with a roster of 21 players (including two from here in Orange County), and their coaches will be in Huntington Beach during their winter break in early January to practice and prepare for the 2026 season. Members of the Notre Dame Club of Orange County have traditionally been great supporters of the team when it visits Southern California, and the Club has been invited to continue that support at a very special event coordinated by one of the Orange County team parents, NDCOC member Ralph Torres.
NDCOC members and friends are invited to an evening with the team and head coach Kris Ganeff and her coaching staff on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 5:30-9:00 pm at the Pendry Hotel in Newport Beach. There will be a chance to meet the players and coaches and to learn about the ND Softball program, the state of college softball generally, and the effect that the transfer portal and Name, Image and Likeness (“NIL”) are having on the sport. There will also be a keynote speaker, JT Rogan. JT Rogan was an All-American running back under Jim Harbaugh at the University of San Diego. Rogan also worked on college football staffs at Stanford and Michigan. JT is a dynamic speaker and expert in the changes that are occurring in college sports due to the transfer portal, NIL, and the recent settlement in the House vs NCAA lawsuit. JT will also be conducting a live auction of some fantastic Notre Dame items!

There is no admission charge for the evening. A no-host bar will be available in the banquet room. No food will be served, but guests are welcome to dine in one of the restaurants on site before or after the event.
