About this Event
Join us in Bridgnorth for an evening with bestselling crime writers Shari Lapena and Claire Douglas as they talk 'in conversation' about their writing and their latest thrillers, Getting Away with M**der and The Family Friend.
Shari Lapena
Shari Lapena is the internationally bestselling author of thrillers including The Couple Next Door, Everyone Here Is Lying and She Didn’t See It Coming, and each of her novels has been a Sunday Times and New York Times bestseller. She has sold over 9.4 million copies in forty territories around the world. 2026 marks 10 years since the publication of Shari's first thriller The Couple Next Door, which was the overall bestselling fiction title in the UK that year.
Shari returns this July with her best novel yet – Getting Away with M**der – an unputdownable, utterly addictive cat and mouse thriller about a couple who will stop at nothing to preserve their perfect life and precious home.
Claire Douglas
Claire Douglas is a former journalist best known for her Sunday Times bestselling psychological thrillers, including The Couple at No 9 and The Girls Who Disappeared. A Marie Claire Debut Novel Award winner for The Sisters, her work is published in over 25 countries with more than two million UK sales. A regular Richard & Judy Book Club pick, her novels are noted for twist-filled plots and strong female leads.
Claire's latest novel The Family Friend, published in March 2026, is another page-turning master class in suspense, as a woman receives an unexpected inheritance from a reclusive artist she hardly knew and becomes convinced the woman's death is entwined with a tragic event in her own past.
Don't miss this opportunity to see two of the very best psychological thriller writers discussing the inspiration, research, and the meticulous plotting behind their addictive bestselling books.
