An Evening with Professor David Olusoga OBE
Friday 20 November | Devizes Corn Exchange | 7pm start (doors open 6:15pm)
We are delighted to be welcoming Professor David Olusoga OBE to Devizes this November for a special evening of history, ideas and conversation.
One of Britain's best-known public historians, David is an award-winning broadcaster and bestselling author, as well as Professor of Public History at the University of Manchester. Television audiences will know him from programmes including A House Through Time, Black and British and Britain's Forgotten Slave Owners — and, more recently, as a finalist on BBC's Celebrity Traitors.
His recent talks have explored the surprising global history behind that most British of institutions, the cup of tea — connecting Britain with China, India, the Caribbean and beyond. The subject of his Devizes talk will be confirmed nearer the evening, but audiences can expect David's characteristic combination of history, storytelling, humour and fresh perspectives.
The talk will be followed by an audience Q&A, with the opportunity to put your own questions to David. He will also be signing books.
Tickets are now on general sale. Our Festival Friends were given priority booking and almost half the available tickets have already been sold, so we recommend booking soon if you'd like to join us.
Tickets available online via Ticketsource or from Devizes Books.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Please do join us as we end our anniversary year on a high.
Best wishes,
The Devizes Arts Festival Team
