An Evening with Peter Gray

Join the Macomber Center for an insightful discussion with Peter Gray on Self-Directed Education and his new book.
About this Event

Macomber Center delighted to welcome renowned psychologist and author Peter Gray for an evening discussion on Self-Directed Education and his new book.

Grounded in the insights of his new book, Restoring Childhood: How to Set Kids Free in the Age of Anxiety, Dr. Gray will share how trust, freedom, and Self-Directed Education can restore children's natural resilience and emotional well-being.

Together, we’ll look closely at why kids urgently need the freedom to direct their own learning, follow their passions, explore their surroundings, and take age-appropriate risks. By stepping back as overly protective supervisors and stepping up as supportive facilitators, parents, educators, and community members can create environments where young people truly thrive. Join us for a heartfelt conversation about honoring children's natural instincts to play and learn, and discover practical ways we can set our kids free in an age of anxiety.
