He was awarded the British Press Award for Foreign Reporter of the Year and was appointed OBE for services to international journalism. Now, drawing on a lifetime witnessing the world's fault lines shift, he delivers a thought-provoking lecture posing the questions that preoccupy us all: how did the world ever get into this mess — and what happens next?
