An evening with Mara Brock Akil | Forever our Girlfriend

Ideated by TV Producer & New Author Steve Jones, Hollywood Confidential is a live event series dedicated to educating creatives of color on the inner workings of the industry from a panel of veterans.

In existence for over a decade, the series has served as a true North Star to those dreaming of a career in the entertainment industry. Past Hollywood Confidential guest honorees have included Oscar winning actressess Lupita Nyong'o, Regina King, Angela Bassett, Issa Rae, Keke Palmer, Snoop Dogg, and more!

On Wednesday, October 1st, from 7-9pm, Hollywood Confidential will honor one of television’s most transformative voices, Mara Brock Akil, with the ICON Award, at a premiere event in recognition of her outstanding career, and in observation of the 25th anniversary of her groundbreaking series Girlfriends. We will also salute projects from her cannon of ICONIC shows, including The Game, Being Mary Jane, Love Is, and her critically acclaimed hit, Forever! With special guests joining the celebration, this is an event you DON’T want to miss!

As always, #HollywoodConfidential is free of charge to attend, but those who want a guaranteed seat can select the Preferred seating option. Doors open at 6pm sharp!
