An Evening with Gloria Armstrong: Poetry, Film & Conversation

Join artist and poet Gloria Armstrong for an intimate evening of poetry, short films, and conversation in conjunction with her exhibition Spirit of My Homeland: Contemporary Indigenous Art by Gloria Armstrong.

Gloria will share a selection of her poetry, followed by short films about her life and artistic calling. Her daughters, Lorelle Ross and Yana Ross, will facilitate a Q&A with Gloria, offering an opportunity to hear more about her work, her connection to the natural world, and her lifelong journey as a contemporary California Indian artist.

A short production by her granddaughter, Tavi Carpenter, a PhD student of Anthropology at UCLA, will also be shown, along with a film by local filmmaker Lee Foster, Founder & Creative Director of Silverseed Media. Both filmmakers will be available for questions following the program.
