Next Page Books and Cedar Rapids Pride are honored to co-sponsor ‘An Evening with Ellen Krug’ at 6:30pm Thursday, September 4. The event will be held in Whipple Auditorium at the downtown Cedar Rapids Public Library.
Ellen - author, columnist, and national speaker on human inclusivity - has published her long-awaited second book, Being Ellen: A Second Chance at Life, which details her 15-year “womanhood journey” following her gender transition in 2009.
The book is about Ellen’s second-chance life of finally living as a woman, where she finds acceptance by family, friends, and younger female mentees. It’s an improbable story of a transgender woman with a man’s voice who somehow touches the hearts of even the most hardened. The book offers hope at a desperate time in which America finds itself, and the book leaves readers inspired to offer others greater compassion and kindness as they go forward in their own lives!
