Described by Zac Brown as "a mad scientist with a five-string fiddle," GRAMMY-nominated violinist and fiddler Casey Driessen has spent more than two decades redefining what a modern string musician can be. Blending bluegrass, folk, world music, improvisation, technology, and storytelling, Casey creates performances that are as inspiring as they are unforgettable.
His latest project, Otherlands: A Global Music Exploration, took Casey and his family on a year-long journey across Spain, Ireland, Scotland, India, Japan, Finland, Italy, Slovakia, and Czechia, documenting musical collaborations with artists around the globe. The project has become an acclaimed collection of recordings, films, photography, and stories celebrating the universal language of music.
Beyond the stage, Casey is an internationally respected educator, founder of the Blue Ridge Fiddle Camp, former Program Director at Berklee College of Music's Valencia campus, and creator of The Chop Notation Project, a groundbreaking resource for contemporary bowed string techniques.
Over the course of his career, Casey has shared the stage and studio with an extraordinary list of artists, including Béla Fleck, Abigail Washburn, Dave Matthews Band, Steve Martin, Martin Short, Jerry Douglas, Steve Earle, Tim O'Brien, Darrell Scott, Raghu Dixit, and many more.
