The acclaimed artist, calligrapher, and hotelier Betty Soldi will come from Florence, Italy to share an evening with the Dante Alighieri Society and friends. Betty will take us on a captivating journey, exploring how writing and communication evolved from Dante Alighieri’s time through the Renaissance, and revealing how the written word shaped culture and identity across the centuries.The evening will include demonstrations of her unique artistic niche, and the opportunity to practice some of her techniques. We will also hear Betty's own fascinating story, and how she came to carry on the artistic heritage of Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance.
